What we can do to help generate traffic, is to register your site with all the major search engines.  This means that people searching for a store selling your kind of merchandise should be able to find you without previously knowing you ever existed.  Just as you probably found us.

We will try to optimise your site keywords to get the best result possible, and we will monitor the pages returned against various keyword searches on the major search engines in an endeavour to improve your rankings, but, depending upon what you sell, you may be buried in a very large list!

In short, don't depend upon building an eCommerce business on the basis of potential customers finding you via the search engines.

No, you are going to have to find a way of letting the world at large know you exist, and tell them where to find your site on the Internet.  As in normal, down to earth trading, you need to know how you are going to do this before you can succeed.

This might mean using conventional advertising, press release, Internet advertising, banner exchange, or whatever you consider right for your business, but unless you can get visitors to your site, you are not going to sell any goods online!
